Ren V-Cense Revitalising Night Cream Review

By Alexa - September 26, 2020

First off, I took quite the break over the past month. To be transparent, I was lacking motivation and didn't have many new finds to rave about and wanted to really take my time to test out my newest purchases before reviewing them for you guys.

Today I'm back with a Ren review - a brand I haven't tried, at least not for many years, and this is one I received in last year's Look Fantastic advent calendar.

This is also a brand I deem to be for 'mature' skin, aka anti-wrinkle products. I've also been binging on Skincare with Hyram's content so you could say I'm totally a skincare aficionado now (ha.)

This retails for a whopping £35-45, depending on where you purchase, so it's arguably  high end, luxury brand. Having seen this, I'm grateful it was included in an £80 calendar! However, overall, I'm underwhelmed with the results for my skin.

As this is a night cream, I'd recommend using it during that time unless you have very dry skin, as this is very thick and almost 'sits' on the skin rather than immediately sinking in. It's also filled with essential oils and oil extracts, which can be very moisturising, but I found it clogged my pores a little.

I do appreciate the scent, it's very soothing for night time. On the other hand, the fragrance and excess of ingredients could over-sensitize skin which is prone to issues such as acne or redness.

As I mentioned, for mature skin this could be good as it really coats the skin with a layer of cream and is recommended for all skin types and for preventing signs of ageing.

The plus points for me would be the soothing scent and the texture being very easy to blend, and how it feels almost matte on the skin. I also love that this brand takes on a more eco-friendly, natural stance in terms of packaging and extracts. To my knowledge they are also cruelty-free.

I broke out a little during the time I used this, but beyond that, my skin did look somewhat calm and smooth in the morning. So perhaps it just isn't meant for sensitive or acne-prone skin!

Let me know if you've tried this !

xoxo
