Makeup Revolution Pigment Boost Eye Cream

By Alexa - October 10, 2020

One of my favourite brands for skincare and makeup has always been Makeup Revolution. Another brand I always had my eye on was Ole Henriksen, but the price tag was a little steep to just buy on a whim.

Then I saw Makeup Revolution come out with a 'dupe' for the brightening banana eye cream in the form of the Pigment Boost Eye Cream, for a much smaller price. This was also un-fragranced and all their products are cruelty-free so it was a no-brainer! This retails for £8 and is part of a wider eye cream range.

I use this as my morning eye cream as during the night I just use my regular moisturiser (yes, this is totally safe!) and I don't really care about brightening my under-eye area during the night.

You'll see in the final picture, the cream has a yellow, beige tint to it which is of course the brightening element. I don't recognise many of the ingredients as eye creams are formulated slightly differently to regular creams. However, I haven't had any itchy or burning sensations as I have with other creams.

It's a fair amount of product for only £8 and I'm not even half way through after two months of use! If you have dark circles like me, this is a good option for daytime as it slightly reflects light, thus brightening, and adds a slight 'concealer' effect.

It's not a miracle product, as dark circles are genetic and can only be reduced surgically permanently or through **manifestation**! Overall, I enjoy using this product and it could work for sensitive skin too due to the lack of fragrance.

My only complaint is the texture is a little grainy, it's not the typical gel-like cream but rather a paste consistency. This is good for coating the eye area in a yellow tint, but adds a slight uneven texture which can be annoying under makeup. I would recommend you gently swipe across your under-eye area to make sure the surface is even.

ALSO, if you have darker skin, I can't be sure this won't be too light due to the yellow tint. It's minimal colour, but does visibly brighten my pale skin so may not suit your skin tone.

Let me know if you've tried this!

xoxo
