Provoke Illuminex Touch of Blonde

By Alexa - May 30, 2020

You may have noticed a trend, with my latest post highlighting blonde haircare products. And today I'm telling you guys about my latest trial in DIY hair lightening!

I recently ordered another provoke lightening product, to go with the purple toning shampoo, as my John Frieda spray was sold out. Both essentially do the same thing but the application is a little different.

I ordered this online at Boots.com and use it almost every single day. I don't use any heat on my hair right now, as I'm not going out, and want to make sure my hair's getting healthier in lockdown. This is also a subtle way to lift the tone without going full on orange or platinum!

I also happen to have some beautiful flowers in my garden, so thought it opportune to use them as backdrop!

This is meant as a bi-weekly at most treatment, but I'm constantly maintaining my roots and overall colour to avoid fading so every time I wash my hair I apply the toning and lightening products. I don't  have any noticeable damage so I can't dissuade you from doing the same.

The application is a very fine mist so I end up spraying loads all over and be careful not to get it on your face if you'll be going out in the sun. I love that this has a beautiful scent to it, it really smells like a hair perfume and on our daily walk I can smell it every time the breeze hits me - divine!

It's overall an affordable at-home treatment for anyone trying to maintain blonde cool toned hair or lighten their current shade and hasn't made my hair streaky/any noticeable downsides.

Definitely recommend!

xoxo
