Since the summer is coming to an end slowly, my hair is having a reverse Cinderella moment - turning from gold to straw. I haven't used much hair colour or heat lately but I imagine the weather and humidity have taken a toll and I am in desperate need of weekly TLC!
I'm on a mission to grow my hair out past my forearms, and then I can start having regular trims. After seeing Kim Kardashian's hair, I've fallen in love with this crazy mermaid look, despite the higher time investment needed for maintenance. So here The Body Shop Shea Butter Mask comes in. This is a more intensive treatment for dry or damaged hair.
If you have thin or fine hair which breaks off easily, I would recommend a lighter choice or use this sparingly. I use a massive dollop every Sunday to prepare my hair for ALL the dry shampoo in the coming week. This feels quite thick on the hair and I find the best method to be applying to damp hair and wrapping it into a bun and allowing it to dry for 20 minutes.
The smell is also fabulous, a light but luxurious nutty scent which lingers long after you wash this out. I didn't find it made my hair greasy or weighed down, it just added that little bit extra bounce and vitality.
However, the long-term effects will be more visible with regular use, as one use will not get rid of split ends or frizz. It will just mask the hair with a shine and only after a few uses did I find my hair more manageable and softer.
This retails for just £12 and is highly rated not only by me, so if you are prone to damage and breakage in the ends, I highly recommend!
