Do Firming Cleansers Really Work? | Super Facialist Firming Cleanser

By Alexa - April 07, 2019

I never thought of cleansers as an essential part of my routine, as they are just a product we wash off our face, right?

But this past year I've been experimenting with new brands and ingredients that I hadn't thought of previously. This current one is another Super Facialist favourite - the Neroli Brightening Cleanser. The ingredients are so soothing on the skin, and really make it easier to maintain moisture and softness in my skin (which is an annoying combination) that I'm beginning to think this first step of my routine is essential!

I bought this one at TK Maxx actually, which was a lucky find, as I was running low on makeup remover and I prefer melting cleansers to wipes or micellar water. I find they do a more thorough job and don't leave the skin feeling parched. I paid just £4.99 for this, and if I come across another range at Boots I'll be sure to pick this up again.

The scent is so pleasant, of course it's a light floral, which I didn't think I would enjoy that much. I usually prefer fruit scents or something really 'luxurious'. I used this at night to thoroughly cleanse my skin of any makeup or products, and I found my skin was never aggravated or dried out.

Another tip is to double cleanse - I would use this to first remove products, then to cleanse over my bare skin so the ingredients can start to soak into the skin gradually. As for the brightening effect, I never broke out as a result and my skin was quite clear, so I imagine it helps bring luminosity to the skin that can be hard to maintain with acne scarring (a 'mare for me!)

I believe the main ingredient to maintain supple skin, will always be collagen and hyaluronic acid - the latter being a key ingredient here.

As you can see, this is packed with many natural extracts which makes me feel better about what Im putting on my skin, as some are jam packed with chemicals and unnatural ingredients.

Have you ever tried this brand?
