The Body Shop Face Masks | Exfoliating Ginseng & Rice

By Alexa - March 24, 2019

I've been trying to develop a more rigorous skincare routine shall we say, so this is one face mask I've been reaching for recently.

I saw this when filtering for top products on The Body Shop's website. The Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Mask is one of their best selling products, along with the rest of the face mask range, and for good reason! This one is created for exfoliating purposes and to give your skin a 'clean slate'.

I managed to pick this one up on offer, with a £5 voucher, this totalled just £11. As you can see in the pictures, my trusted tool for application is a good ol' foundation brush. This is from my beginner days when I didn't know what a blending sponge was, and I figured rather than throw it out, I'd use it for face masks!

The one thing detering me from regular use, is the messy application but this makes it so easy. I just rinse it in hot water after to remove residue and let it dry. Make sure your skin is completely clean as well when applying a mask, otherwise your pores will remain clogged and the mask won't do it's job.

Another thing I love, is how natural The Body Shop products are, much fewer strong chemicals than higher end brands, and the top ingredients are predominantly natural extracts or water. The consistency of this is also pretty great - it feel gritty on the skin but with a thick texture that dries quickly and blends out very smoothly.

I'd still recommend this for sensitive skin, just keep it to once a week. I'll show you guys my other face masks in a future post, as I'm loving this new pamper routine I've developed. I'm trying to balance out hydration with brightening/exfoliating.

Have you tried this yet?

xoxo
