I'm always on the lookout for the best drugstore eye cream, and I usually end up purchasing one on a whim! That sounds counter-productive, but I know which brands I like and which are reputable.
Eau Avéne is highly reputable and it's seemingly catered to being very gentle on the skin, so I thought an eye cream for sensitive skin couldn't do any harm. This is the Refreshing Eye Contour Care, retailing for £15 in Boots.
The price seems a bit hefty for a simple eye contour gel/serum but they had an offer on at the time, and like I said, the brand does seem to be well catered to sensitive skin. I was hoping this would be thicker and apply a layer over my under-eyes, but it is very light and maybe best for teen skin.
I need something hefty with the power to somehow counteract the circles under my eye, which quite a few creams have done by reflecting light and adding a brightening effect. However, I will say this didn't seem to do any harm to my eye area so it should be suitable for any skin type. It just didn't compete with the likes of No7 or Origins!
I've had some redness under my eyes recently but I can't attribute it to this, and it's gotten a lot better so I presume my skin had a bit of a meltdown in the windy winter weather. Overall, I'd give this a 7/10 as it feels very smooth to apply, I didn't have to rub at my eyes and it soaks in straight away. It has a delicate, fresh scent but I won't repurchase this as I can't see any major difference.
Have you tried this?
xoxo
